The „China Traditional Orchestra Anhui“

The China Traditional Orchestra Anhui is among the greatest Chinese music performing groups in China. The Orchestra is affiliated with the Anhui Song and Dance Ensemble, and has been committed to offer refined and excellent Chinese music and has made significant contribution in succeeding and developing Chinese music and the Anhui folk music.Since its establishment in 1956, the Orchestra has promoted Chinese and Anhui music, culture and history in China and abroad through numerous outstanding performances.

In its first 50 years, it counted among its members many elite artists, such as Liu Fengming (Suona), Chen Baohong (Zhuihu), Liu Chicheng (Guqin/Zhucheng Style), Pan Changqing (Pipa/Pudong Style), and Chen Huilong (Dizi/Southern Style), etc. In recent years, the Orchestra has collected, rearranged and composed many new compositions originating from the Anhui folk music, such as Feng Yang Song, Flower Drum and Light Festival, Spring Arrives in Huizhou, Farewell in Huai Yin,  Flower of Huang Mei, Wan Feng Xi Yun, Anticipation of Huang Shan, etc. 
 
As a cultural ambassador, the Orchestra has represented both China and Anhui province at concerts held in over 30 countries and regions, such as Japan, Austria, Russia, Mongolia, Western Africa, Mexico, Korea, Sweden, Algeria, Tunisia, Hong Kong and Macau, etc. 

The Orchestra has also frequently given special performances for government officials and honored guests, such as the Prime Minster of Denmark, the Presidents of Zambia, Mali, Mozambique, Yemen, etc.  In the future, the China Traditional Orchestra Anhui will make continuous effort to promote Chinese and Anhui music.
